**SMO 254 Nuts** are manufactured with a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with about 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, and with nitrogen and copper additions. This special composition features excellent resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. Having a high tensile strength of approximately 650 MPa and a PREN in excess of 42.5, SMO 254 Nuts surpass conventional stainless steels such as 316L in severe conditions.
