Molybdenum adds pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking resistance. These fasteners are not magnetic in the annealed state and provide excellent weldability and strength. SS 316 has structural integrity in cryogenic and high temperature conditions, and hence, it can be used in demanding applications where corrosion and strength are prime factors to consider.
